As soon as he begins, the film switches to a dream ballet of everything weâve seen up until that point, only with a few vital differences. This time, mistakes werenât made, and betrayals weren
An Unrealistic Dream Factory. At the heart of La La Land lies the quintessential Hollywood dream of success and stardom. Mia Dolan, an aspiring actress, and Sebastian Wilder, a jazz musician, navigate the cutthroat world of Tinseltown, fueled by their unwavering passion for their art. Their journey, however, is not without its setbacks and
I constantly felt like La La Land was framed just a bit too close. For almost tge whole movie. Some of the color work is nice, but I think it got nominated for all the long takes. Though to me, there were scenes that needed edits to other shots. I don't think the cinematography was successful at what it attempted.
Monsterland Season 1 Episode 1 Recap. Titled âPort Fourchon, LA,â after the town where the story is set, âMonsterlandâ season 1 episode 1 revolves around Toni, a young mother who is struggling to make ends meet. She works as a waitress at a diner where food is so bad that even the staff has no problem openly admitting it.
Now I'm going to try to explain why. The fact that La La Land is a movie musical is fundamentally connected to the other two ideas. Earlier in the book, Jessup's brother Teardrop tells the protagonist Ree (Jessup's daughter) that he has his suspicions: "I can't know who killed Jessup, I can suspicion a man or two, have a hinky feelin', but I can't know for a certain fact" Then he lists the members of the gang he suspects is responsible: Buster Leroy, Little Arthur
However, there is one thing that puts me off slightly and that's the ending sequence of the movie. The entire sequence which paints an idyllic, rosy picture of what Mia and Seb's future might have looked like. For one, I think it's too drawn out, and honestly I think the entire sequence should've been cut out just for pacing reasons.
The ending MAKES La La Land. And for me, there is that resolve at the end, we see Mia and Seb gently acknowledging each otherâs success from across the club, they both understand that each other were a beneficial role in getting them where they are today and they had to make that sacrifice to get their dreams.
